GISD Summer Reading - Catch the Reading Wave 2026 🌊
This summer, we invite all students to keep their reading skills strong and their imaginations soaring by participating in our Summer Reading Program!
Using Beanstack, our online reading tracker, students can log their reading minutes anytime, anywhere—from books at home to eBooks on SORA, MackinVIA, Destiny Discover, TumbleBooks, and NatGeo Kids. As they read, they’ll earn badges, complete fun challenges, and discover new stories all summer long.

Reading during the summer helps prevent the “summer slide” and keeps students engaged with learning in a fun and meaningful way. Make it even more special by reading together as a family!

Once you’re in the app, choose "School, Library, or Bookstore", then search for your school name. Sign in using your student username and your 6-digit birthdate (mmddyy) as your password.
