Celebrate National Reading Month this March - a month to motivate Americans of all ages to read every day. This year, we’ve partnered with Lerner Publishing to bring you the "5 Kinds of Nonfiction Reading Challenge" - designed to encourage PreK-12 readers to explore their favorite nonfiction topics and themes all month long.
The 5 Kinds of Nonfiction, created by author Melissa Stewart, is a useful tool for classifying a diverse range of titles, helping readers discover & engage with new information. You can read more about the 5 Kinds of Nonfiction here. Follow along as we share more on the Beanstack Blog and social media leading up to and throughout the challenge.
In this challenge, readers can access ebooks courtesy of the Lerner Digital Bookshelf to read each type of nonfiction. They'll choose books from different pathways, like Animals, STEM, or Sports & Hobbies, log their reading, and complete activities to earn badges!
All U.S. libraries and schools are eligible to join the challenge with their communities and read to win some amazing prizes, including a selection of titles from 5 Kinds of Nonfiction, provided by Lerner.
Fill out the form to register for the challenge and to subscribe to updates! We are thrilled for your community to join us!
